Doris Marie (Boyer) Burkert

Doris Marie (Boyer) Burkert, 90, a resident of the Queen of Angels Apartments, Muhlenberg Township and formerly of Laureldale, died August 16, 2016 in Golden Living Center, Exeter Township.

She was born on February 13, 1926 and was a daughter of the late Elmer L. and Kathryn M. (Reinert) Boyer.

Doris was a former member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale.

She was employed 31 years as a sales person with Boscov’s Department Store, before retiring in 1996.

Doris attended Muhlenberg High School.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra L. (Burkert), wife of Peter D. Baney of Bern Township and Diana L. (Burkert), widow of Mervin E. Hoffa of Muhlenberg Township.

Other survivors include four grandchildren: Michael F. Mull, Kimberly L. (Hoffa), wife of Todd R. Sarge of Muhlenberg Township, Trisha A. (Baney), widow of Andrew D. Urban of Coopersburg, PA and Kylene E. (Baney) Knepp of Cumru Township.

There are also seven great grandchildren: Mary K. Nye, Nathan A. Nye, Rachel A. Nye, Leah N. Nye, Caden D. Knepp, Cora C. Urban and Adelade G. Knepp and one great great grandson, Dante A. Rodrigeuez.

Services will be held Friday, August 19th at 11:00 am in Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale with Rev. Thomas Irwin officiating.

A viewing will be held Friday, one hour prior to services.

Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
