Frances Elizabeth (Dickson) Hillis

Frances Elizabeth (Dickson) Hillis, 96, died May 24, 2017 in her Earl Township residence.

She was the widow of William Hillis.

Born January 24, 1921, in Woodmere, Long Island, New York, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Elnora Mae (Caldwell) Dickson.

Frances was a graduate of Freeport High School, Long Island, New York.

She was employed in childcare as an administrator with Carson Valley School, Flourtown, PA for 20 years before retiring.

Frances enjoyed reading and gardening.

She was very service driven, serving as an officer in the Salvation Army for many years.

Frances cherished her 26 years spent in Ocean Grove, New Jersey.

Dedicated to her family, she is survived by two children: Charles “Chuck” A., husband of Susan (Lykowski) Murphy of Princeton, Maine and Elnora B., wife of Donald L. Holland of Earl Township.

She is also survived by four loving grandchildren: Joshua Holland, Benjamin Holland, Christine Murphy and Elizabeth Murphy and two great grandchildren: Julia Murphy-Peterson and Matthew Murphy-Peterson.

Frances was predeceased by eight siblings: Clarence, Albert, Richard, Wesley, Harry, Dewitt, Ruth Rosenhammer and Constance Cummons.

Services will be private.

Burial will be in Greenfield Cemetery, Long Island, New York.
