Gene Donald Bolig, 80, of Exeter Township, died March 21, 2017 in Penn State Health / St. Joseph.

He was predeceased by his wife, Sandra (Reifsnyder) Seifer- Bolig, who died April 1, 2013.

Born in West Reading, Berks County on March 5, 1937, he was a son of the late Warren A. and Virginia M. (Bechtel) Bolig.

He was a United States Marine and a member of the American Legion Post #945.

Gene was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and worked with the youth group.

He was last employed as a security guard with Ludens Candy, Reading.

Gene was a Ballroom Dance Instructor at Louise Lamar Dance Studio, Bernville and competed in many dance competitions.

He loved listening to ballroom dance music and to go camping anywhere; traveling to various campgrounds.

Gene was a member of Citizens Band Radio #222CB and enjoyed communicating with people around the world.

He is survived by two children: Darlene L., wife of Horst Zornek of Oley and Seth G., husband of Cheryl Bolig of West Lawn and four step children.

Gene is also survived by a sister, Joan Bolig of Lower Alsace, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, four step grandchildren and ten step great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a former spouse, Louise Ann (Poticher) Bolig-Hill, two siblings: Kenneth Bolig and Jane Bolig a step-daughter and a great grandson.

Services will be held Saturday, April 1st at 11:00 am in Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3344 Crest Avenue, Reading, PA 19605.  A viewing will be held one hour prior to services in the Church.

Burial with full Military Honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
