Howard Snover

Howard E. Snover, 84, formerly of Muhlenberg Township, died August 21, 2016 in Phoebe Healthcare Center, Wernersville.

He was the husband of Dolores E. (Shearer) Snover who died November 28, 2015.

Born May 15, 1932 in Hazleton, Luzern County, he was a son of the late Edwin A. and Helen E. (Breisoh) Snover.

Howard was a 1949 graduate of Hazleton High School and a 1951 graduate of Bliss Electric School, Washington, DC.

He was employed as a switchman with Verizon, Reading for 42 years, retiring in 1992.

Howard served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He was stationed in Japan.

He was a member of Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Muhlenberg Township.

Surviving are his four children: Alan D., husband of Henrietta A. Snover of Reading; Richard L., husband of Dorret  Snover of Chapel Hill, NC; Ted J., husband of Jacqueline Snover of Muhlenberg Township and Kathy J., wife of Timothy Seidel of Laureldale.

Also surviving are his two brothers, Kenneth R., husband of Grace Snover of Hazleton and Donald L., husband of Patricia L. Snover of Wallinford, PA.

Other survivors include his ten grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Laureldale Cemetery Chapel, 4631 Pottsville Pike, Reading.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
