Karen Ruhl, 54 of Palm Harbor, FL, and formerly of Muhlenberg Township, passed away peacefully, in her home on January 13, 2018.

She was the wife of Robert Ruhl.

Born in Reading, PA, she was a daughter of Josephine Buchanan and the late William L. Buchanan, Jr., and was a graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her two sons: Andrew Price, husband of Allison, and Derrike Price, and her step daughter, Jenn Ruhl.

She will be greatly missed by her granddaughters, Olivia, Josephine, and Charlotte.

Also surviving are her three siblings: Lynn Manwiller, wife of Bradley; Catherine Skrocki, wife of Steve; and William L. Buchanan III, husband of Lea and several nieces and nephews: Miles Buchanan, Alexis and Brodie Skrocki, Rachel and Abigail Manwiller and Valerie Sayler, wife of Geoff.

While living in Pennsylvania, she was employed at J&J Snack Foods Inc. (Bavarian Pretzel) before relocating to Florida, where she thrived in a business management position, as well as a realtor.

In her spare time, if Karen wasn’t sitting on a beach, she was a Moffitt Volunteer, where she spread her joy to cancer patients. She found great passion in this, being she is a Breast Cancer survivor herself.

In accordance to her wish there will be no funeral services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in her name to Moffitt Cancer Center, which can be done so at give.moffitt.org.
