Matthew Thomas Versagli, 35, passed away March 27, 2017 in his Reading residence.

Born August 21, 1981 in Wilmington, DE, he is survived by his father, Thomas M. Versagli, (partner of Terri Kaufman) and his mother, Alyce L. (Brunett) Versagli (wife of Jeff Mellinger).

Matthew graduated from Muhlenberg High School, class of 2000 and attended Reading Area Community College.

He was employed with Metro Cab Company, Reading for 10 years.

Matthew loved to cook and play the guitar. He enjoyed watching Marvel movies, and had a special love for children. He also loved ‘his’ City of Reading.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, is his sister, Lauren E. Versagli of Hulst, The Netherlands and his brother, Douglas M., husband of Christie G. Versagli of Coatesville.

Also surviving is his paternal grandmother, Mary L. Versagli of Kennett Square.

Other survivors include his many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Matthew was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Vincent R. Versagli and his maternal grandparents Audrey A. and Henry D. Brunett.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 31, 2017 at noon at Glad Tidings Church, 1110 Snyder Rd, West Lawn, PA 19609. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the atrium of the church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
