Roger E. Clark, 81 of Shillington, died October 13, 2016 in the Reading Hospital & Medical Center.

He was the husband of Linda L. (Weidner) Clark, who he married September 15, 1994.

Born in his Birdsboro residence on July 9, 1935, he was a son of the late Walter E. and Ruth N. (Millard) Clark.

He was a 1953 graduate of Birdsboro High School and a 1958 graduate of West Chester University where he played soccer all four years.

Roger was a health and physical education teacher for 32 years with Daniel Boone High School, retiring in 1990.

He was a coach for 23 years.  Roger coached track, cross country, boys and girls bowling, baseball and basketball.

Roger was also a P.I.A.A. basketball official for 25 years and a member of the CBOA, Collegiate Basketball Officials Assoication.

He was also a member of the Reading and Berks Basketball “Oldtimers” Association, Goldleaf Coaching Member, Kenhorst Fire Company and Victor Emmanuels.

Roger worked for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board from 1980 – 1996.

He was an Army Veteran, where he served as a public information specialist.

Roger was an avid Philadelphia sports enthusiast, especially the Phillies.  One of his most memorable moments was attending the World Series games in 1993.  Roger was also a season ticket holder of the Hershey Bears for 18 years and a member of their booster club.

He is also survived by three daughters: Sherri L., wife of C. Joseph Missimer of Downingtown; Terri L., wife of John Schultz of West Lawn and Kristen S., wife of Dean Weidner of Cumru Township and three step-children: Thomas J., husband of Jane (Hewitt) Schlappich of New Windsor, New York; Sueann L. (Schlappich), wife of Sam Mills of Philadelphia and Joseph M., husband of Karla (Hofmann) Schlappich of Brecknock Township.

There are also ten grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren.

Roger is also survived by a sister, Judith A. (Clark), wife of Alan Kline of Pottstown and a sister-in-law, Denise (Bratton) Clark of Pennside.

He was predeceased by a brother, Gary L. Clark.

Services will be held Wednesday, October 19th at 2:00 pm in Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, with Rev. Al Kimball officiating.

A viewing will be held Wednesday from 12:30 pm until time of services.

Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
