Ruth Sara Bingaman

Ruth Sara Bingaman, 91, formerly of Flying Hills, died May 23, 2017 at Berkshire Center, Exeter Township.

She was a daughter of the late Paul Lutz and Esther Rebecca (Sailer) Bingaman of St. Lawrence.

Ruth was a 1943 graduate of Mt. Penn High School.  She was also a graduate of Kutztown College, where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from.

She was employed as a teacher and reading specialist, starting her career in Colorado Springs prior to working for the U.S. Government - U.S. Army, as a teacher, in Puerto Rico, Japan, France, Germany and Philippines. She retired from Oley School District after 20 years of service.

An avid traveler, she was also involved in the Reading Bridge Group, having earned Life Master and Gold points in bridge.  She also enjoyed playing Bingo and was formerly active in a PA Dutch Study Group.

She is survived by her sister, Mary B., wife of James A. Miller of Chester Springs, Chester County and many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was predeceased by four siblings: Russell Bingaman, John Bingaman, Alton Bingaman and Lucy Ann Bingaman.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
