Ruth E. Walters

Ruth E. Walters, 95, formerly of Amity Township, died July 17, 2017 at Berkshire Center, Exeter Township.

She was the widow of Joseph F. Walters who died May 20, 1983.

Born May 8, 1922 in Fleetwood, she was a daughter of the late Irvin H. and Esther E. (Adam) Delp.

Ruth was self-employed as a farmer her entire life.

She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Amityville, where she was a member of their Ladies Aid Society.

Ruth was a member of the PA Farmer’s Association and Society of Farm Women of Berks County, Group 1.

Surviving are her two children: Frederick J., husband of Sharon (Davidheiser) Walters of Douglassville and Elaine L. (Walters), wife of Ken R. Van Aken of Washington Crossing, Bucks County.

Also surviving are her three grandchildren: Samuel J. Van Aken, Sarah E. Van Aken and Eric E. Walters.

Funeral Services will be Friday, July 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. in Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 423 Main Street, Oley. A viewing will be held from 9:30-11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Amityville Cemetery.
