Thelma May Reifsnyder

Thelma May Reifsnyder, 94, formerly of Reading, died September 22, 2016 in Mt. Vernon Nursing Home, Alexandria, Virginia.

She was the wife of Robert D. Reifsnyder, who died November 14, 1994.

Born in Lancaster, PA on May 10, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Magdaline (Kuski) Hagelgans.

Thelma was a Coast Guard Veteran of WWII and is honored in the Women in Military Service for America Memorial in Arlington, VA.

Her hobbies included fishing, reading and gardening.

She was a former leader of an all Catholic Girl Scout Troup and faithful member of Holy Guardian Angels.

Thelma is survived by a son, David Reifsnyder of Woodbridge, VA and a daughter, Marianne (Reifsnyder), wife of William F. Jackson of Pompano Beach, FL.

There are also 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30 am in the Chapel of Resurrection at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA.

A viewing will be held Thursday from 9:00 am to 10:00 am in Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, PA.

Entombment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum, Muhlenberg Township.
