William (Bill) W. Bechtel, 95, of Citrus Ridge, FL, passed away January 30th, 2023. Bill was born to the late Augustine and Jeannette (Knies) Bechtel, Sr. and was raised in Lansford, PA. He moved to Hometown, when he married the love of his life, Lillian (Hoppes) Bechtel. They were married for 65 wonderful years.
Bill enlisted in the US Navy on his 18th birthday during WWII and reenlisted during the Korean War. He was a member the Masonic Chandler Lodge 227, Scottish Rite Consistory and the Rajah Shrine, where he was a past president of the Director's Staff. He attended Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church in Clermont, FL. Bill was an electrician at AT&T for 37 years.
Following his retirement, Bill and Lillian loved to travel and vacationed in all 50 states and most of the Canadian provinces. Loving natural beauty, they enjoyed many National and Provincial Parks. Bill’s favorite trip was a summer in Alaska. Outside of the US, his favorite place was Paris, thanks to their dear friend, Laurent.
Bill was always ready to volunteer and lend a helping hand to anyone in need, especially his family. He will be sadly missed by his family for his sense of humor and the love he shared with them.
In addition to Lillian, he is survived by daughters Lynn (Robert) Fenstermacher of Mohrsville, PA and Lauri (Robert) Cancillieri of High Bridge, NJ, and daughter-in-law Kathy Bechtel of Egg Harbor Township, NJ; grandchildren Jared Fenstermacher, Lauren (Steve) Ferreri, Michael (Ashley) Cancillieri, Amy Cancillieri, David (Emily) Bechtel, Jr, Paul Bechtel and Jenna Bechtel. Bill was predeceased by son David Bechtel, Sr, and brothers Augustine Bechtel and Robert Bechtel.

A viewing will be held Sunday, February 5th from 5pm to 7pm at the Stitzel Funeral Home, 3300 Kutztown Rd, Laureldale, PA. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11am at the Stitzel Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Berks County Memorial Gardens.
