Donald David Frankhouser, Sr.

Donald David Frankhouser, Sr., 83, formerly of Muhlenberg Township, died July 14, 2018 at ManorCare Health Services, Muhlenberg Township.

He was the widower of Dorothy Bernice (Williams) Frankhouser, who died February 26, 2012.

Born April 29, 1935 in Reading, he was a son of the late Arthur David Frankhouser and Maggie Elizabeth (Hess) Clark.

Donald was employed as a mechanic with Barta for 41 years, retiring in 1998.

He was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Reading.

Donald enjoyed hunting and fishing, and most of all, spending time with family.

He is survived by his six children: Donna L., wife of George Osenbach, Jr. of Shillington; Donald D., husband of Shirley J. Frankhouser of Kenhorst; Michelle E. Frankhouser, partner of Isaac Char of Reading; Tina M. Griffith of Reading, Nancy M., wife of Raymond C. Hopp of Cumru Township and David A. Frankhouser, Sr. of Kenhorst.

There are also ten grandchildren: George Osenbach, III, Kyle Osenbach, Jason Frankhouser, Elizabeth (Frankhouser) Okonski, Shelby E. Frankhouser, Chelsea S. Bradley, Jessica L. (Hiester) Diaz, Richard R. Hiester, Amber N. Hiester, and Katie M. Frankhouser, and a host of great grandchildren.

Donald was predeceased by his brother, Ronald I. Frankhouser, Sr.; his daughter, Diane L. Frankhouser; and his two grandsons, Codi A. Frankhouser and David A. Frankhouser, Jr.

Services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale.  A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30.  Burial will follow at Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
