Jan Reber Obituary

Jan G. Reber, 63, of Muhlenberg Township, beloved husband and father, passed away unexpectedly December 20, 2018, in Norfolk, Virginia.
He was married February 4, 1979 to Diane Lynn (Curro) Reber.
Born December 25, 1954 in West Reading, PA, he was a son of the late Clarence A. Reber, Sr., and Helen R. (Manowczak) Reber.
He was a 1972 graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School, where he was valedictorian, was a member of the schools stage crew and played football and track.
Jan also graduated in 1976 from Lehigh University, where he earned a BA in Engineering and was a fraternity member of Sigma Nu. He subsequently earned his Master’s degree from UC Berkley, California.
He was employed as a mechanical engineer with Enersys, Bern Township, retiring in June, 2018. 
Jan was a member of Holy Rosary R.C. Church, Reading.
He was a season ticket holder and passionate Navy Football fan and loved attending the Army/Navy game for the past sixteen years.
Jan was a past president of the Naval Academy Parents Club of Central Pennsylvania.
He loved riding his Honda Goldwing with his wife and family.
Jan is also survived by a daughter, Lt. Commander Terra A. Curro Reber, wife of Lt. Ed M. Menezes of Norfolk, Virginia.
He was visiting his daughter and anxiously awaiting the birth of his first grandchild, Violet Lynn Menezes.
Other survivors include his sister, Patricia A. (Reber), wife of Larry D. Miller of Centre Township.  
He was predeceased by two siblings: Victor A. Reber and Clarence A. Reber, Jr.
Jan is also survived by a niece, Nicole Curro and three nephews: Brandon Miller, Clarence A. Reber III and Mark Reber.
He was also predeceased by a nephew, Jonathan Clayton Reber.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 12th at 10:00 am in Holy Guardian Angels, 3121 Kutztown Road, Muhlenberg Township. 
Viewings will be held Friday, January 11th from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in Stitzel Family Funeral Homes, 3300 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale and Saturday, January 12th from 9:00 – 10:00 am in Church. 
Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
