Joan Elizabeth (Tkac) Weaver

Joan Elizabeth (Tkac) Weaver, 80, of Spring Township, died December 9, 2018 in Tower Health / Reading Hospital.
She was married December 1, 1962 to Thomas Raymond Weaver, who died January 18, 2016.
Born in Reading, PA on July 22, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Michael J. And Helen E. (Ziats) Tkac.
Joan was a 1956 graduate of Reading High School and graduated in 1957 with a medical secretary degree from McCann School of Business.
She was employed 11 years in the Pathology Department at St. Joseph Hospital.
Joan was later employed 21 years for Dr. Chen See as his personal secretary and bookkeeper with Quality Control Medical Lab, Inc., Mount Penn, before retiring in 1990.
She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.
Joan enjoyed watching golf and football and going to the casinos.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their school and sporting events and especially loved family trips to Ocean City, Maryland.
Joan is survived by three children: Thomas M., husband of Daneen M. (Marrella) Weaver of Spring Township; Michael B., husband of Jennifer A. (Guidara) Weaver of Macungie and Linda Lee (Weaver), wife of David L. Reinhart of Lower Heidelberg Township.
She was also the loving grandmother to seven grandchildren: Shannon, Brian, Lauren, Daniel, Molly, Tommy, Olivia.
There are also two sisters: Dolores (Tkac), widow of Arlan Ohlinger of Spring Township and Maryann (Tkac) Grauert of Exeter Township.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, December 13th at 1:30 pm in St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church, 2810 St. Alban’s Drive, Sinking Spring, PA 19608.  There will be no public viewing.
Burial will be private in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o St. Ignatius Church and mailed to the above address.
