John Edward Golembiewski

John Edward Golembiewski, 63, died October 5, 2018 in his Oley Township residence.

He was the loving husband of Debra Ann (Chirieleison) Golembiewski, to whom he married August 5, 1978.

Born October 18, 1954, in Reading, PA, he was a son of the late Leon J. and Florence T. (Rotkiske) Golembiewski.

John was a 1972 graduate of Reading High School.

He was a United States Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam Conflict.

John was a crane operator and rigger most of his working life, last working April 30th at Deka Corporation, where he had been the past 10 years.

An avid outdoorsman; he loved hunting, fishing, boating, scuba diving and gardening.

He was a past member of the Reading Fire Company Rescue Dive Team.

John is also survived by his daughter; Michelle Marie Golembiewski of Oley and his grandson, Sebastian James Hunsicker, of Oley.

Other survivors include his brother, Leon J., Jr., husband of Linda Golembiewski of McDonough, Georgia.

He will also be sadly missed by his German Shepherd, Buck.

Services will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10:00 am in Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 423 Main Street, Oley.  

A viewing will be held from 9:00 am until time of services in the funeral home.

Burial will be private at Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
