John Henry Schmitt

John Henry Schmitt, 83, of Bethlehem passed away peacefully at the St. Luke’s Hospice House, Bethlehem on April 19, 2019.

He was the loving husband of Chieko (Sasaoka) Schmitt, to whom he married on September 13, 1955.

Born in the Bronx, New York on July 15, 1935, he was the son of the late Christian and Amelia (Porubsky) Schmitt.

John was employed by American Airlines in aircraft maintenance management.

He proudly served in the United States Air Force.

Along with his wife, John is survived by his son John., who is married to Melissa Schmitt of Easton.

John is also survived by his grandchildren: Anthony Loeffel of McKinney, Tx; Nikky Rash of St. Cloud, FL and Jordon Schmitt of Las Vegas, NV.

Also surviving are his great grandchildren: Madelyn, Tyler and Charlotte.

Graveside Services will be held Saturday at 10 AM in St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Summit Hill  with the Rev. Allen Hoffa officiating.
