Kenneth R. Klusewitz

Kenneth Richard Klusewitz, 87, of Laureldale, died October 15, 2018 at Reading Hospital & Medical Center.

He was the husband of Dorothy R. (Westley) Klusewitz, to whom he was married December 27, 1952.

Born February 11, 1931 in Reading, he was a son of the late August P. and Helen M. (Siegfried) Klusewitz.

Kenneth was a 1948 graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School.

He was employed as an engineer with Western Electric/AT&T for 27 years, retiring in 1985. 

Kenneth served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.

Kenneth loved to dance and was an avid jigsaw puzzle builder.

He was also a volunteer with Boy Scout Troop 161, Temple for over 10 years, and Santa’s Helpers, through Western Electric, for over 25 years.

In addition to his wife, surviving are his three children: Brian K. Klusewitz of Stouchsburg; Gregory L., husband of Lisa M. Klusewitz of Mountain Top, Luzerne County; and Lori M., wife of Dana S. Bertschman of Ruscombmanor Township.

Also surviving is his brother, Gerald Klusewitz of Muhlenberg Township.

There are also four grandchildren: Matthew S. Bertschman, Daniel R. Bertschman, Jason M. Klusewitz and Kevin R. Klusewitz.

Kenneth was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Klusewitz, and by a sister, Mildred Feinberg.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. at Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA 19605.  A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. at the church.  Burial will be at Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
