Lola Eurosia (Bufagna) Rozzi, 82, of Laureldale, died January 2, 2019 at Tower Health – Reading Hospital, West Reading.
She was the widow of Lorenzo, who died April 7, 2004.
Born March 10, 1936 in Roccafluvione, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Pietro and Assunta (Angellozzi) Bufagna.
Lola was a graduate of Elisabetta Trebbiani Scuola Magistrale where she received a certificate of teaching in elementary education. She attended University of Urbino in Italy, where she studied school administration and pedagogy.
A teacher for 50 years, Lola was employed at Colonia Pio XII in Acquasanta Terme, Italy as an elementary school teacher and as the director of their summer school. She was also an Italian Language instructor at Holy Rosary Church, the Italian Heritage Council of Berks County and the Italian American Cultural Center of PA. She was also the Italian language teacher for 27 years at Cabrini Academy in Reading, where she taught students in Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth grade.
Lola was the founder of the Festa della Donna celebration in Reading.
She was the author of two children’s books; “lo Imparo I’ltaliano” and “Maschere d’Italia.”
Lola was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.
Surviving are her four children: Helen, wife of John Sahi of Willington, CT; Stephen, husband of Raylene Rozzi of Arlington, VA; Paola Rozzi of Laureldale and Christine Rozzi of Laureldale.
She is also survived by her brother, Dalmazio Bufagna of Ascoli Piceno, Italy and, by her sister, Gianfranca Zappasodi of Santa Margherita Ligure, Italy.
Other survivors include her seven grandchildren: Catherine, Alexander, Eric, Ash, Antonio, Mario and Annabella.
Lola was preceded in death by her brother, Sergio Bufagna.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. at Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Muhlenberg Township.
Viewings will be held Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, and Saturday morning, from 10-11 a.m. in the church.
Burial will be at Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
