Marie Kathleen (Haas) Reeser

Marie Kathleen Reeser, 84, of Exeter Township, died August 14, 2018 at Keystone Villa, Douglassville.

She was the wife of James Walter Reeser, who she married July 4, 1961.

Born September 4, 1933 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Charles L. and Marie R. (McCarthy) Haas.

Marie was a 1951 graduate of Frankford High School.

She was employed as a secretary with Crescent Box, Philadelphia for 10 years, and later, with Berks Christian School as a reading monitor for six years.

Marie was a member of Exeter Bible Church, where she sang in the choir and served on the missions committee.

She played the piano and, in general, loved music.  Most of all, she loved serving, nurturing and spending time with her family.

An animal lover, Marie took part in assisting at the ASPCA.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her three children: Kristan G., wife of Rev. S. Wayne Rissmiller of Penn Township; Kimberly J., wife of P. Brent Shreve of Ruscombmanor Township; and Kirk J., husband of Christine M. Reeser of Centre Township.

Other survivors include her seven grandchildren: Benjamin J. Shreve, Brittany J. Letterman, E. James Rissmiller, Katelynn M. Rissmiller, Charles H. Rissmiller, Eric J. Reeser and Zachary W. Reeser and four great grandchildren.

Marie was predeceased by her brother, C. Ronald Haas.

Services will be held Monday, August 20th at 11 a.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 423 Main Street, Oley.  Viewings will be held Sunday evening from 6-7:30 and Monday morning from 10-11.  Burial will follow the service, at Limerick Garden of Memories.
