Shirley Molnar Obituary

Shirley Ann (Hodgkinson) Molnar, 80, of Hyde Park, passed away September 21, 2018 at Penn State Health – St. Joseph, Bern Township.

She was the wife of Eugene J. Molnar, to whom she was married June 21, 1961.

Born March 27, 1938 in Atherton, Manchester, England, she was a daughter of the late John and Dora (Dawson) Hodgkinson.

Shirley was employed as a production supervisor with Bachman’s for 29 years, retiring in 1995.

She was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.

An avid reader, Shirley also loved to play games and cards.  She also loved to travel; she and her husband traveled all over the world together.

Also surviving are her two children: David E., husband of Amy F. Molnar of South Heidelberg Township and Shirl J., wife of Chris Brown of South Heidelberg Township.

In addition, surviving is her brother, Terrence B., husband Eunice Hodgkinson of Edinboro, England.

Other survivors include her three grandchildren: Gregory O., husband of Lisa Marie Toniolo; Jonathan S. Molnar and Taylor M. Molnar; and three great grandchildren, Evan M., Isabella M. and Devin M. Toniolo.

Shirley is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, who was very dear to her, Terezia Molnar (2001); her daughter-in-law, Lisa R. Molnar (2008) and her brother, Stephen Hodgkinson (1978).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Saturday, September 29th at 11 a.m. at Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Hyde Park. 

A viewing will be held Saturday from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. 

Entombment will be private at Gethsemane Mausoleum, Muhlenberg Township.
