Alan D. Budgeon, Sr.

Alan David Budgeon, Sr., of West Reading, died October 30, 2024 at St. Francis Home, Shillington. 

Born January 3, 1959, in Reading, he was a son of the late Eugene Lee and Joan Ann (Adams) Budgeon.

Alan was a 1977 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.  He then went on to graduate from Alvernia College, in 1981, where he earned an MA in English literature.

He enjoyed racing Yamaha motorcycles, loved hot rod cars, and was a coin collector.   He was also a history buff.  Alan loved his long hair and was proud to be part Indian.

Survivors include his son, Alan D. Budgeon, Jr.  and his brother Mark D. Budgeon.

Also surviving is Alan’s second family, who meant the world to him - Karyn (Motika), wife of Kevin and their daughter, Cecelia Noll of Kutztown.

In addition, he is survived by his dear friends, Dr. Suzanna Adam, Dave, and Matt.

Alan was preceded in death by his sister, Paula M. Budgeon who died in 2007.  He was also preceded in death by his grandparents who he was very close with; Frank B. and Gertrude M. (Houseknecht) Budgeon and John and Helen (Wojciechowski) Adams.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 9th at 11 a.m. at Chapel of St. George at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA 19605.  A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale.  Entombment will be in the chapel’s mausoleum.
