Antonio Campitelli, affectionately referred to as “Kangaroo,” died October 8, 2023 at Penn State Health – St. Joseph, Bern Township.
He was the loving husband of Giuseppina (Corena) Campitelli.
Born January 13, 1933, in Ascoli Piceno, Italy, he was a son of the late Luigi and Caterina (Malizia) Campitelli.
Tony was employed with Campbell Soup and Blue Mountain Mushroom.
He was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his two children: Roma (Campitelli), wife of John Berkley of Muhlenberg Township and Roberto, husband of Amber (Kline) Campitelli of Cumru Township.
Also surviving are his five grandchildren: Andria E. Berkley, Gionni J. Campitelli, Lilliana L. Campitelli, Gaetano E. Campitelli, and Dillon Kline.
Tony was preceded in death by a son, Luigi Campitelli, who died in 2007.
Tony was the eldest of eight children.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at Holy Guardian Angels Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Muhlenberg Township. Entombment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.
