Arlene E. (Beitler) Melcher

Arlene E. Melcher, 94, of Boyertown, died May 10, 2026 at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center, Narvon.

She was the widow of Robert F. Melcher who died in 2008.

Born December 9, 1931, in Old Zionsville, she was a daughter of the late Horace J. Beitler and Anna M. (Miller) Beitler.

Arlene worked in retail, first with Lefevres Department Store and then Bonton.  She retired from Weis Markets Bakery.

In her free time, Arlene enjoyed baking and playing bingo.

Surviving is her son, Bruce A. Melcher of Boyertown; her granddaughters, Lauren A. Howard and Alison Melcher; and her great granddaughters, Karlee and Lindsey Howard.

Arlene was preceded in death by her two sons: Brian K. Melcher and Barry L. Melcher.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 19th at 11 a.m. at Calvary United Church of Christ, 1231 PA-100, Barto, PA 19504.  A visitation will be held 10-11 a.m. in the church.  Burial will be private at Union Cemetery, Niantic.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary UCC, at the above address.
