Barbara Mohn (Young) Galanos, 93, died April 19, 2025, in her Maxatawny Township residence.
She was the loving wife of Crist Augustus Galanos, whom she married on May 18, 1984.
Born January 15, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Harry Boyd Young, Sr. and Katie Rebecca (Keller) Young.
Barbara was a 1949 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.
She spent her entire career as a secretary, having worked for Yocum Brothers, Motor Freight, Dolan Construction, and George Rubright Construction, and dedicated the last 15 years of her career as a secretary at Grace Alsace Reformed Church, Muhlenberg Township, retiring in 1995.
Barbara loved going to Disney World and enjoyed doing word puzzles and reading and scratching off lottery tickets.
She was a member of Zion’s Church, Hamburg.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her four children: Steven C., husband of Karen Mohn of Womelsdorf; Beckie L. (Mohn), wife of Dennis Reinhart of Hamburg; Debra A. (Mohn), wife of Daryl Harnish of Rogersville, TN; and Beth M. (Mohn), wife of John Williamson of Douglassville.
Other survivors include her six grandchildren: Jeremy Harnish; Jason Harnish; Tiffany (Reinhart), wife of Jonathan Resuta; Crystal Reinhart, and her significant other Gary; Michael Barbera, husband of Jaclyn; and Ashley Mohn; and three great granddaughters, Daphne, Rilynn, and Hope.
She was preceded in death by her three siblings, Harry B. Young, Jr., Ethel L. Gensemer, and Edith E. Frick, and by her nephew, Richard Frick.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
