Barbara A. Magaro

Barbara A. Magaro, 77, passed away in September 2021 at her daughter’s house in Williamsburg, VA after a long bout with cancer. Born in Reading, PA in 1944, she was the daughter of Margaret A. (Hornberger) Laughlin and Roy C. Wolf, Jr. Barbara was raised by her grandmother, Lucille (Brant) Wolf. She was the wife of Robert A. Magaro, Sr., to whom she was married for 48 years.

Barbara was proud to have received her GED in 1979. She was employed by Izod from 1968 until they closed in 1983. She also worked for Manor Care in West Reading for 5 years. 

Barbara and Bob loved Doo Wop music and danced with Rosie Glaser’s Oldies Dancers and loved dancing on BCTV’s Dance Party. She was also a talented seamstress, sewing many outfits and costumes for her children and friends.

She is survived by her sisters: Ann Louise, of Lewes, DE, Mary Lou, of East Berlin, PA, and Clastine, of Michigan. Barbara is also survived by her children: Kimberly A., wife of Richard J. Skorupski, of Wyomissing, Robin L. Delong, of Williamsburg, VA, Lee-An S., wife of David C. Felkins, of Williamsburg, VA, William J. Seidel, husband of Allynn, of Temple, Robert A. Magaro, Jr., and Anthony M. Magaro, of Reading. In addition, she is survived by 22 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. 

Barbara is predeceased by her three brothers: Roy C. III, Robert H., and Walter David and sister: Sharon L.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 1:00PM at the Stitzel Family Funeral Home, 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale.
