Barry Lee Hafer, 68, died October 26, 2025 in his Oley residence.
Born March 31, 1957, in Reading, he was a son of Anna L. (Cleaver) Hafer of Oley, and the late Willard Burton Hafer, who died in 2021.
He was a 1975 graduate of Oley Valley High School, and attended Penn State University for business.
Barry was employed with Acme Markets for a number of years, and Redner’s Markets for 23 years, before retiring in 2024.
He was a member of Frieden’s United Church of Christ, Oley.
A music lover, he enjoyed playing records and going to concerts. He also loved going to movies, reading, and enjoyed the shore.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, is a nephew and two nieces: Matthew A., husband of Kimberly A. Hafer; Tiffany A., wife of Justin M. Ollar; and Hillary Bratz.
There are also seven great nieces and nephews: Jake, Kayla, Cheyenne, Cody, Charlee, Colt, and Ella.
He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Bonnie Hafer; and lifelong companion, James Heresko.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., Oley, is in charge of arrangements.
