Betty Jean Pfautz, 89, died June 24, 2024 in her Perry Township residence.
She was the wife of Eugene Paul Pfautz who died May 17, 1989.
Born in Exeter Township, PA on July 31, 1934, she was a daughter of the late James Benjamin Brown and Catharine Mandilla (Satter) Brown.
Betty worked as a housekeeper for 30 years with Dutch Colony Motor Inn, retiring in 1989.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Betty loved eating what she wasn’t supposed to and enjoyed snacking.
She is survived by four children: James E. Sr., widow of Dorothy C. (Arms) Pfautz of Washington Township; Cindy L. (Pfautz) Schwambach, companion of Richard T. Hinnershitz of Muhlenberg Township; Diane L. (Pfautz), wife of Thomas M. Pennock of Perry Township; and Gary R., husband of Rebecca J. (Buckingham) Pfautz of Exeter Township.
Other survivors include 11 grandchildren: James Pfautz Jr., Judy L. Geisinger, Jennifer Miller, Stephanie Tisdale, Christy Pennock, Donald Schwambach, Thomas Pennock, Jason M. Pfautz, Matthew J. Pfautz, Courtney S. Pfautz, and Stacy Pfautz.
There are also 25 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Betty was predeceased by a great grandson, Robbie Newth.
She was also predeceased by her 6 siblings: Samuel Clarence Hassler, John Clarence Brown Sr., James Alfred Brown, Bertha Marie Burkert-Tothero, Hannah Esther Boyle, and Dorothy Ella Brown.
Betty deeply missed her cat, Fuzzy and her dogs: Queenie, Teddy Bear, Jody, Baby Girl, Benjamin, Max, and Blackie.
Graveside services will be held Friday, June 28th at 11:00 am in Berks County Memorial Gardens, 222 & Evansville Road, Maidencreek Township.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, Pa 19508.
