Betty J. Spease, 90, of Wyomissing, died December 18, 2023 at Tower Health – Reading Hospital.
She was the wife of Robert R. Spease who died April 11, 1993.
Born August 10, 1933, in West Reading, she was a daughter of the late Luther R. and Sylvia D. (Columbo) Sayre.
Betty attended Reading High School.
She was employed as a looper with Berkshire Knitting Mills for 11 years, and as a salesclerk and manager with Boscov’s for 10 years; U.S.M. Molly, Temple for 5 years, and lastly Grafika Commercial Print for 12 years, retiring in 1987.
Betty was a member of St. John’s Gernant’s U.C.C., Leesport.
Surviving is her daughter, Rochelle L., wife of Mark Johnston of Thomasville, York County; and her granddaughter, Rachael Johnston and five great grandsons: Mark Johnston, Gabriel Myers, Grayson Johnston-Cenkner, Asa Johnston-Cenkner, and Everett Johnston-Cenkner.
Betty is also survived by Sharon, widow of Quentin Wenrich of Leesport.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley, widow of James Confair, and by her granddaughter, Rebecca Johnston, who died in 2022.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
