Betty Irene Tobias, 98, formerly of Alsace Township, passed away September 10, 2024 in Penn State Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Raymond George Tobias, who passed away in 1992.
Born January 16, 1926 in Pottsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry Edward and Ruth Irene (Adams) Stephenson.
She was employed by Western Electric as a senior operator.
Betty loved to cook, bake, play cards, especially 500 rummy but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She was also known for being the fashionista of Keystone Villa.
Surviving is her son: Harry Raymond Tobias, husband of Gloria J. (Hatt) of Reading, PA; Son-In-Law - Thomas Rudloff of Alsace Township.
Grandchildren: Dr. Jessica (Tobias), wife of Matthew Reiniger of Maidencreek Township; Bret Alan Tobias, husband of Collette Hain of Chester County, PA; Chad Hamilton Rudloff, husband of Tammie (Guinther) of Melissa, Texas and Josh T. Rudloff, husband of Corrine (Calcagno) Rudloff of Alsace Township.
Also surviving are her Great Grandchildren: Hannah Grace Reiniger, Nathaniel Ryan Hain-Tobias, Henry Hain-Tobias, Alayna Rudloff, Alyssa Rudloff, Hunter Rudy Rudloff
She was preceded in death by her daughter: Darlene Elaine Rudloff and siblings: Lester Edward Stephenson, Edith Lillian (Stephenson) Houtz, Dorothy (Stephenson) Smith, Gladys Henrietta (Stephenson) Bucks, Walter Adam Stephenson, Harry, widower of Betty (Trythall) Stephenson of Exeter Township and Donald Marlan Stephenson.
A graveside service will be held Saturday September 14th at 11am at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 West Neversink Road, Reading PA 19606.
In Lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Rosedale United Church of Christ or the Animal Rescue League.
