Bonnie Lee (Lightcap) Schaffer, 56, died in her Lower Alsace Township residence, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the wife of Gary Lee Schaffer, with whom she shared 20 years of marriage.
Born August 8, 1967, in Reading, she was a daughter of Patricia Ann (McMullen) Lightcap of Wernersville and the late Conrad Jacob Lightcap, Sr.
Bonnie was employed as a caregiver for various companies, last working with Berks Leisure Living, Bern Township. She loved her job caring for others.
She was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed getting her nails done, especially with her granddaughters Brittney & Kaitlyn, but most of all, she loved spending time with all of her grandchildren.
Bonnie loved reading and her favorite author was V.C. Andrews.
Surviving, in addition to her husband and mother, are her three children: Jessica A., wife of Justin Crawford of Muhlenberg Township; William C., husband of Amanda Fisher of Oley; and Chad E., husband of Dana Schaffer of Muhlenberg Township.
Also surviving are her eight grandchildren: Brittney, Kaitlyn, Brandon, Ethan, Savannah, Briar, Briella, and Callie.
There are also three siblings surviving: Mary, wife of Richard Evans of Wernersville; Conrad Lightcap, Jr. of Wernersville; and Connie Jackson of Shamokin.
Bonnie was preceded in death by a son, Christopher C. Schaffer who died in January 2023, and by her brother Stephen Lightcap.
A service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held from 6-7 p.m. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
