Brenda Louise (Sitlinger) Gross, 74, of Exeter Township, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025, at her residence with her husband by her side.
She was the loving wife of John Gross with whom she married for 47 years on July 1.
Born May 27, 1951, in West Reading, she was the daughter of the late Russell Sitlinger and Ruth (Ludwig) Sitlinger.
Brenda was a 1969 graduate of Reading High School. After graduation Brenda went on to work as a data entry operator for Bachman Foods for 8 years. Brenda and her husband John moved to Georgia after getting married. While in Georgia she worked for Butler Shoes for 16 years and Target for 21 years, retiring in 2016 and returning to Reading to help care for her mother.
Brenda loved animals and enjoyed spending time with her cats. When she wouldn’t be with her animals she would enjoy reading and long walks outside.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three siblings: Lyn (Sitlinger) Banks of Reading; Karen (Sitlinger) Kuzminski, wife of Theodore of Bethlehem; and Debbie (Sitlinger) Woodring, wife of Dennis of Muhlenberg Township.
A service will be held Monday, November 10, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Resurrection at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA 19605.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Humane Pennsylvania, 1729 N 11th Street, Reading, PA 19604.
