Curwood R. Snyder, 75, of Laureldale, passed away Friday, December 26, 2025 (Boxing Day), surrounded by his family.
He was the loving husband of Elizabeth A. (Beane) Snyder, who he married on his birthday, July 6, 1974.
Born July 6, 1950, in Reading, he was a son of the late James Curwood Snyder and Fern Mary (Zimmerman) Snyder.
Curk was a graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School and he retired from Car-Tech (“Car-take” as he called it).
He played many sports as a young man and found his way into boxing. Friends and family have heard about his many stories sparring with Muhammad Ali at the Deer Lake Training Camp.
Curk had many hobbies throughout his years, but he enjoyed nothing more than fishing and hunting. Yearly trips to Canada for large mouth bass and archery/rifle hunting seasons, at The Remington Club, where his passion. He also volunteered his time at Daniel Boone Rod and Gun Club, where he served as president at one time. His passion for hunting and fishing were passed down to his children and grandchildren. They carry on the tradition with yearly trips to The Remington Club and Rippling Waters Cabins.
Surviving are his two children: Karen Wentzel, wife of Mark Wentzel and Ammon Snyder, husband of Susan Snyder.
Also surviving are his four grandchildren: Max Wentzel, Maggie Wentzel, Alan Snyder, and Zach Snyder.
A graveside service will be planned for some time in March.
