Cynthia “Cindy” Lee Guzanowski, 75, of Alsace Township, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2024 in Penn State Health / St. Joseph.

Born July 14, 1948 in Reading, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Richard Aaron Rowe and Lillian Nora “Dolly” (Mahoney) Rowe. She was a 1966 graduate of Reading High School. She was married April 14, 1981 to the late Anthony John Guzanowski (1946 – 2015).

Cindy was employed from 1976 – 1986 as a secretary with the Township of Spring. She was later employed in software sales with Quantum Software in 1999, last working January 2024.

She enjoyed spending time at The Dips and the Alsace Manor Fire Company with her many friends. She was known for her excellent sense of humor and always trying to make people laugh. She spent time taking care of her Aunt Peg, whom she lived next to for many years. Cindy and Tony enjoyed their time breeding and showing their award-winning Belgian Hare, Mini Lop and Angora rabbits. She maintained a loving relationship with her son–in-law, Mark Lawlor, who she enjoyed sparring with, and his wife, Karen Lawlor. 

She is survived by three daughters: Shari, wife of Edward Schoennagel of Hancock, VT; Denise, wife of Brian Crissup of Denver, PA; and Krista, wife of James Stednick of Shillington, PA.

Cindy was also the proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: D. Michael Lawlor; Connor Lawlor; Christina Crissup; Ella Stednick; David Crissup; Olyvia Stednick; and Soren Schoennagel; and two great grandchildren: Carter Ryan Lawlor and Marissa Rose Lawlor.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Marissa Lynn Lawlor in 2005.

Cindy will be remembered with a private Celebration of Life.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Humane Society of Berks County.
