With much sadness, the family of David Scott Snukis announce his passing at the age of 59. David passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 25, 2024, at Penn State Health – St. Joseph.
He was the loving son of Nina R. (Brahler) Snukis, with whom he resided in Muhlenberg Township, and the late Thomas J. Snukis.
David loved fiercely, made genuine connections wherever he went, and had the ability to make anyone laugh. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his family and friends and he especially loved doting on his great nieces who were the apple of his eye.
A graduate of Muhlenberg High School and a member of Holy Guardian Angels Church, Dave loved wildlife, especially wolves, visiting them frequently at the Wolf Sanctuary. He loved to draw developing his own unique style and was an avid movie buff. During game nights, Dave was the family’s all time Yahtzee champion. Additionally, Dave enjoyed his times at the casino.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, is his brother, Thomas J. Snukis, COL USA (RET) PhD, husband of Rosemary(Varnell) Snukis; his niece, Courtney R. Snukis; his nephew, Thomas J. Snukis, CPT USA (RET) husband of LCDR Jessica (Kaminski) Snukis, and their daughters, Jenna, David’s goddaughter, and Jaclyn and their soon to be baby brother. David was preceded in death by his brother, Jay Michael Snukis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, January 31st at 11 a.m. at Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Reading. A viewing will be held from 9:30-11 a.m. in the church. Entombment will take place at the Chapel of St. George at Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
