Donald H. Hepler, 85, of Muhlenberg Township, died March 18, 2020, in Reading Hospital. Born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late William H. and Grace A. (Straub) Hepler.
Donald was a 1953 graduate of Cressona High School, Schuylkill County, and was a proud United States Army Veteran.
He worked at Carpenter Technology for many years, retiring in 1987.
Don enjoyed his many years of living in Millsboro, Delaware on the Rehoboth Bay, where he spent many hours boating, fishing and clamming.
He was a member of the Rajah and Schuylkill Shriner organizations for most of his life, supporting many different charity events.
Don is survived by two daughters: Donna H. Hepler, of Wyomissing, and Cynthia C. (Hepler), wife of Michael R. Shires, of Muhlenberg Township.
Other survivors include two grandchildren: Tanya L. Hepler and Carli M. Shires.
There are also three siblings: Ann, wife of Therold Krammes, of Mechanicsburg, Charles, husband of Gail (Bittle) Hepler, of Cressona and Lawrence Hepler, companion of Alice Early, of Martha’s Vineyard.
He was predeceased by a brother, Luther Hepler, who died in 1993.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, March 21st at 10:00 am in Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, with a visitation from 9:30 – 10:00 am.
