Donald Earl Shade, 97, of Reading, passed away June 9, 2022 in the Mifflin Center. He was the husband of Catherine Irene (Fegley) Shade.
Born December 5, 1924 in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Earl LeRoy and Caroline Marie (Fischer) Shade.
Donald proudly served his country in WWII in the United States Army.
He was a welder for 20 years for the Dana Parish Corp and was a painter for The Reading Hospital.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children: Douglas Alan, husband of Mellaine (Schramek) Shade of Lakewood, CO; Valerie Louise, wife of Dennis Larry Glodzik of Kempton, PA. Four grandchildren: Jeffrey and Katie Glodzik, Alan Shade and his wife Jessica and Brian Shade and a brother: Robert A., husband of the late Nancy Shade of Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
He was preceded in death by his siblings : Eleanor Shade; an infant just 13 days old, Doris Ruth Angstadt and John Shade.
