It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald John Wentling Jr., who left us peacefully on August 19, 2024, at the age of 62.
Donald was born in Reading, PA on July 23, 1962, and was a son of Donald J. Wentling Sr. and Patricia (Didyoung) Wentling.
Donald graduated from Tulane University with a major in English. His professional career spanned 7-Up Bottling, Adelphia Seafood, and grocery distribution at several supermarket chains. He was highly regarded for his dedication and commitment to developing and mentoring his colleagues. His loyalty and sense of duty were unwavering qualities that he instilled in his four children. Donald was very proud of the adults they have become.
In recent years, Donald found his true calling as a grandfather. He found immense joy in spending time with his three grandchildren. His face would light up in their presence, and he found a unique contentment in watching them grow. Donald was able to meet and hold his newest grandchild, Abigail, just a few days before his passing.
Other survivors include his children: Ryan, husband of Sarah; Matthew, husband of Kaitlin; Donald "D.J.", husband of Kaitlyn; and Kelley, wife of Brad Groves; his cherished grandchildren: Christopher, Caroline, and Abigail; and his siblings: Beth, Karen, Michele, Kevin, and Amy. He was predeceased by a sister, Patrice.
The family held a private service to honor Donald John Wentling Jr.
