Donna Marie (Dite/Tyson) Schmeck

Donna Marie (Dite/Tyson) Schmeck, 74, of Reading, passed away February 5th 2023, at St. Francis Hospice Home.

She was the beloved lifetime partner of the late Michael Shanaman.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Dite and the late Lillian Shull wife of George Shull Sr, as well as her adoptive parents the late Edward & Blanche Tyson.

Donna is survived by her sisters, Lisa, wife of Steve Steinsnyder, Lancaster, and Brenda Dite, Reading, three nieces and one nephew, Megan Margaret, wife of Aaron Davis, Fleetwood, Mary Elizabeth, wife of Joseph Moody, Harrisburg, Chelsea wife of Jonathan Knepper, York, Brenten Spuhler, husband of Leticia; as well as several great nieces and nephews and loving cousins.

Donna was predeceased by her former husband Dennis Schmeck & her beloved sister Colleen Roth.

She was employed at St. James Church of West Reading for several years as well as Rite Aid of West Reading. She loved being an Aunt to all her nieces and nephews. Donna also enjoyed picnics & holidays with the Shanaman family, being a part of a bowling team for years, and attending Reading Phillies games.

Donna attended Northwest School, Reading, PA, and was part of class of 67.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 11th, 2023, at 11 A.M., at Reading City Church, 644 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA 19611.  Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 West Neversink Road, Reading, PA 19606. Viewings will be held Friday evening from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M., and Saturday morning from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. in the church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Donna's honor to St. Francis Hospice Home, 144 Hillside Drive, Reading, PA 19607.
