Dorothy Ruth Rapp

Dorothy R. (Spohn) Rapp of Muhlenberg Park passed away on October 17, 2023, at the age of 86. She was the daughter of the late Dorothy (Seyfert) Spohn & Llewellyn Spohn, sister of
Margaret Scott. She was the widow of her beloved husband of 62 years, Vernon G Rapp.

She was preceded in death by her Grandson; Benjamin W. Scheipe. 

Dottie is survived by daughter Lynanne R Hesse, (Stephen R Hesse), of Shillington; sons Jeffrey D Rapp of Bernville, and Gregory A Rapp, (Karen McDonald), of Forked River NJ;
granddaughter Christine A Scheipe of Denver CO & Peyton Whittington, (Benjamin Whittington) of Medford NJ, and 1 great grandchild. She was predeceased by grandson Benjamin W Scheipe.

Dottie graduated from Reading High School in 1954 and Albright College in 1958. She worked for Met Ed as a Home Economist, was a Reading & Berks County School District
substitute & Reading Head Start teacher. She served her church as director of an after-school tutoring program & Vacation Bible School.

She was a member of St. John’s Reformed Church in Sinking Spring and believed that knowing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior was the most important aspect of her life.

She enjoyed entertaining family & friends in her home, tennis, skiing, and playing Bridge. She especially enjoyed spending time in warm weather locations, and at the beach.

Dottie always felt her life’s blessings were beyond counting.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Dottie’s name to St John’s Reformed Church, 4001 Penn Ave Sinking Spring, 19608.
