Douglas Robert Hefter, 64, of Exeter Township, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Judy Ann (Evancovich) Hefter.
Born December 31, 1959, in San Francisco, CA, he was the son of the late Henry Hefter and Betty (Adler) Hefter of Muhlenberg. He graduated from Muhlenberg High School and was employed by Boscov’s as an IT Technician for over 36 years.
Doug spent his time with the love of his life and best friend, Judy. He enjoyed being with friends and family, especially his granddaughters. Doug enjoyed bowling and fishing and loved all sports, especially NASCAR and football.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are his daughter Tamara, wife of Casey Boone of Blandon, and grandchildren Haylie and Makenzie, his brother Dennis Hefter and wife Ellen of Colorado, and their children Alexandra and husband Kevin O'Donnell, along with great-grandnieces Logan and Kendall, Andrew Hefter and wife Kirsten, and Matthew Hefter, and Kenneth B. Shealy Jr., stepbrother, and wife Lori. His family, friends, and good buddies, D.J. and J&G, will miss him dearly.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, January 6 at 11:00 AM at the Stitzel Funeral Home, 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A visitation will be held prior from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
