Dustin John Patrick Hiester, 40, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, with his
mother by his side.
Dustin met Allison Leopard in 2015, and they married in 2018. They lived in Baltimore, Maryland with their cats Claude, Edgar (who is waiting for Dustin over the rainbow bridge), and Milo.
He is survived by his mother, Kim J Hiester, his father Dennis G. Hiester (Meg), brother Derrek G. Hiester (Keli), nephews Dillon G. and Shaye P. Hiester, Goddaughter Claire Scianna and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends in the Reading and Baltimore areas and throughout the country. He made friends easily and cherished them; especially his two best friends since
childhood, Chris Scianna (Michelle) and Jason Miller (Jenn).
Dustin is predeceased by his maternal grandparents Sally and John Bruchak and paternal grandparents Stella and Merlin Ressler, and his aunt Susie Palmer.
He attended Reading Central Catholic High School and Alvernia University prior to moving to Baltimore in 2008, where he worked as a data analyst at several companies.
Dustin developed a love of music as a little boy and started out playing the keyboards, but his favorite instrument to play was the drums. In high school he and his best friend, Chris formed a band and played around the area. He also sang in the children’s choir at St. Catherine of Siena and played in the PEP Band at Central Catholic High School. He was a walking encyclopedia of knowledge, especially about music. No one in the world loved “Africa” by Toto more than Dustin. He was a big Philly sports fan (even when it was hard to be one), the Flyers being his favorite team of all time. He also had a love for cats (especially his own). To know Dustin, was to know a man who loved life, had a kind soul, and lived life to the fullest.
A celebration of life will be celebrated in the Spring of 2025 and will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made, in Dustin’s memory, to BARCs (Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter), 2490 Giles Road, Baltimore, MD 21225 and/or Ashley Addiction Treatment Center, 800 Tydings Lane, Havre de Grace, MD 21078; two places that were near and dear to Dustin’s heart.
