Edward Hart Obituary

Edward Austin Hart, 78, of Reading, passed away April 12, 2025, in his residence surrounded by his loving family. 

He was the husband of Ginny (Weiser) Hart whom he married on January 12, 1992. 

Born September 23, 1946, in Reading, he was the son of the late Lester Hart and Marie (Wiand) Hart. 

During his early working years he was employed by Gaitronics to work on communication boxes and the Reading Knitting Mill as a mill setter for the lace machines. He was then employed by Carpenter Technology as a Stand Builder and Mill Adjuster for 23 years, later retiring in 2010. After retiring Edward loved to stay busy. He was an avid woodworker, birdwatcher, and loved remodeling the home he lived in. Edward was always doing handyman side jobs for friends and family. With the free time that he had Edward loved spending time with his golden retriever, Lucy. 

Surviving are four children: Debra Driesbach, wife of Brian of Shillington; Susan Hart; Michael Sheidy, husband of Mary of Orwigsburg; and Heather Jolly of Laureldale. 

One sibling is surviving, Dorothy “Dottie” Harper of Bethany, Delaware. 

Also Surviving are eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. 

He was predeceased in death by his brother, Lester Hart and a very close uncle who acted as a second father, Uncle Bob. 

A service will be held Thursday, April 17th at 11 a.m. at Praise Christian Fellowship , 323 June Ave, Blandon, PA 19510. A viewing will be held prior from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. at the same location. Burial will be private. 

Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., Laureldale, is in charge of arrangements. 

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Praise Christian Fellowship or St. Jude’s Hospital.
