Edward E. Rafalski

Edward “Ed” E. Rafalski, 75, died December 4, 2023 in Wyomissing Health and Rehab Center,  Reading, Pennsylvania.

He was born May 29, 1948 in Reading, PA  to Anthony and Gloria (Reichert) Rafalski.

Ed graduated from St. Pius X High School in 1966. He then attended Kings College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, earning his undergraduate in mathematics in 1970.  He later earned his master's degree in education from Temple University in 1972. 

After his education, he taught mathematics at Cherry Hill High School. After deciding teaching was not for him, he joined Keystone Information Systems as a software analyst. Ed was a pioneer of early computer systems. He continued his career in software development at various companies until he retired from Keystone in 2015.   

Ed and Beverly Keim married in 1969. They were married for 18 years and had five children.

He spent the rest of his retired life at his family’s farmhouse in Pikeville, Pennsylvania, until he went to Wyomissing Health and Rehab Center in 2023.

Ed was loyal and always present for his family. He always traveled each year to visit his children and grandchildren no matter how many states away they were. He loved coffee and British television programs, especially Red Dwarf and Doctor Who. 

He is survived by two brothers and a sister: Steve, Tony, and Arlene. He is also survived by five children: Matt Rafalski, Tim Rafalski, Andy Rafalski, Jon Rafalski, and Adrianne Rafalski, and 14 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, December 15th in Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 423 Main Street, Oley PA 19547. A visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
