Elaine Marie Kopinetz

Elaine Marie Kopinetz, 73 of Reading, passed away May 19, 2024 in Reading Hospital.

Born August 27, 1950 in Pottsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Frances (Seruski) Kopinetz. 

She worked at the Hamburg State Center as a CNA before her retirement.

Elaine; feisty, loving, and strong.

Those who were fortunate enough to meet her were blessed with memories and stories filled with laughter, joy and at times, heartache.  She was a person who never gave up and always made the best of the life she was given.

Over her years, she enjoyed hobbies, such as painting ceramics, putting together puzzles, playing cards, and watching endless movies.  She had a love for owls and has collected many over her years.  Dogs were her favorite animal companions.

She never asked for much and enjoyed the simple things in life. While her mobility was limited, she lived her life as if she wore a pair of her old Roller Derby Skates, always moving forward and never giving up.

Surviving is her daughter; LaTrina "Nina" McCormick of Reading; grandson; Felix Perez IV of Reading; and a sister Beverly Kopinetz of Sinking Spring.

Other survivors include her sister-in-law; Josephine Kopinetz and several nieces and nephews.

Elaine is also survived by her best friend of over 50 years, Darlene Vargas.

She was preceded in death by her son: Adrian Lee Kopinetz, brothers Joseph and Charles Kopinetz.
