Ellen LaRue (Reeser) Brumbach

       
Ellen LaRue Brumbach, 88, passed away, Thursday, October 27th, 2022, at Reading Hospital - Tower Health.

She was the beloved wife of Maurice H. Brumbach, whom she married November 26, 1955.

Born in St. Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Irvin, and Marie Evelyn (Wentzel) Reeser.

Ellen was a 1952 graduate of Mount Penn High School.  Upon graduating from high school, she was employed at the Berkshire Knitting Mills and then later went on to work as an office clerk at Boscov's East, Exeter Twp. for 23 years, retiring in 1999.

Ellen was a faithful member of the congregation at the Schwarzwald U.C.C.  While in school, she participated in several sports and especially loved basketball.  She enjoyed knitting and crocheting many gifts for her family.  She also enjoyed watching or listening to the Phillies baseball games with her husband.  Ellen adored her great grandchildren, with whom she spent much time with.

In addition to her husband Maurice, Ellen is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Louise, widow of Edward Boyer. Two grandchildren: Kylene Marie (Boyer) Jones, Exeter Twp.; and Kaitlyn Elizabeth Boyer, wife of Carlo Pucciarmati, Philadelphia; two great grandchildren: Evianna Jones, Exeter Twp.; and Trevyn Jones, Exeter Twp.; and one sister: Reba Norita (Reeser), widow of Barry L. Bingaman, also survive her.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 1st, 2022, at 11 A.M.,  Stitzel Family Funeral Home, 423 Main Street, Oley, PA 19547. Burial will follow in Oley Cemetery in Spangsville. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M.. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ellen's honor to Schwarzwald United Church of Christ, 75 Church Lane Road, Reading, PA 19606.
