Elwood Hoch Obituary

Elwood Mathias Hoch, 97, formerly of Spangsville Road, Oley, died June 13, 2022 at 4:30 PM in his residence at Keystone Villa, Amity Township.

He was the husband of Betty D. (Rush) Hoch, whom he married March 20, 1948.

Born in his Snyder Road, Oley Township residence on July 14, 1924, he was a son of the late Elwood C., and Mary (Mathias) Hoch.

Elwood was a farmer his entire working life.

He enjoyed listening to live music; taking family to carnivals and fairs; and Sunday visits with family and friends.

Elwood is also survived by five children: Barry L., husband of Barbara (Fritzgerald) Hoch of Earl Township; Mark G., husband of Bernice (Koch) Hoch of Oley Township; Ricky E., husband of Theresa (Rose) Hoch of Pike Township; Randall A., husband of Lori (Einsig) Hoch of Oley Township; and Betty Jean (Hoch), wife of Scott Wagner of Oley Township.

He was the proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Other survivors include two siblings: Eleanor M. (Hoch), widow of Charles L. Gehris of Earl Township; and Janet (Hoch), wife of David Levengood of Amityville.

Elwood was predeceased by a sister, Marie L. (Hoch) Reinert.

The family would like to thank Debbie with Accent Care Hospice for the extraordinary care that was given to Elwood in his final days.

Services were held privately. Burial was in Oley Cemetery, Spangsville.
