Esther E. (Keller) Snyder

Esther Edna Snyder, 104, died March 18, 2026, at Tower Health – Reading Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. 

She was the widow of John C. Snyder, who died in 1988. 

Born January 10, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Charles B. and Hettie W. (Lorah) Keller. 

Esther worked in her early years in various factories and knitting mills, and in her later years, as a babysitter at the YMCA in Reading. 

She loved to be surrounded by family. 

Surviving are her two daughters: Cindy L. Snyder of Oley and Wendy E. Gilmer of Leesport; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Snyder of Fleetwood; her three grandchildren, Douglas J. Snyder (Jeanna), Lindsey E. Frantz (John), and Adam M. Gilmer (Deanna).; and five great grandchildren: Brandon, Kirsten, Liam, Cade, and Cullen. 

Esther was preceded in death by her son, Richard K. Snyder, who died in 2020; and her three siblings, Charles Keller, Elda Frey, and Helen Cataldi. 

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 25th at 11 am at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 391 W. Neversink Road, Reading. The procession will line up inside the main entrance to the cemetery.
