Ethel Rose Wentzel

Ethel Rose (Nicklos) Wentzel, 96, passed away peacefully August 16, 2024, at Fairlane Gardens.  

Born March 2, 1928, in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Stephen & Verna (Nagy) Nicklos Sr. 

She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. 

Ethel was employed by Reading Railroad as a telephone operator. 

Surviving children are Robert Wentzel of Tucson, AZ; John, husband of Jeanne Wentzel of Oley, PA; Richard, husband of Tracey Wentzel, Sr., of Myrtle Beach, SC; Joseph, husband of Carmelita Tejano Wentzel of Dania Beach, FL and James Wentzel of Tucson, AZ.

In addition are her grandchildren: Eve Hanson, Adam Wentzel, Rose, wife of Adam Himes, Jessica, wife of Jonathan Curtis, Richard Wentzel, Jr and Tiffany, wife of Russell Landis. 

Great Grandchildren: Charlotte Curtis, Benjamin Curtis, Ellis Himes and Ruby Himes.

She was preceded in death by her siblings: Stephen Nicklos, Andrew Nicklos, Louis Nicklas, Elizabeth Nicklos, Julie Ulle, Helen Walter, Ann Lazinsky, Mary Clark and  Paul Nicklos. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, August 26th at 11am at the Chapel of Resurrection, Gethsemane Cemetery. Burial will follow. 

In Lieu of flowers contributions can be made to United Way of Berks County.
