Eugene Boyle

Eugene “Gene” Boyle, 75, of Simpsonville, SC, passed away unexpectedly on August 28, 2021.  He was born August 15, 1946 in Coaldale, PA.  He was the son of the late Raymond Boyle and Helen Higgins of Summit Hill, PA. He is survived by his brother, James Higgins of Allentown, his former wife Susan Sharpe-Smith of Lehighton and Gene’s companion Rita Breitenbach.

He was a 1964 graduate of Marian High School and received bachelors and graduate degrees from East Stroudsburg University.

Gene was a former high school instructor at Allentown Central Catholic High School and a former Executive Director of the Carbon/Monroe/Pike Counties Drug and Alcohol Abuse Program.  He went on to become the Director of Drug and Alcohol Programs with the Department of Health in Harrisburg.  In his retirement he formed The Boyle Group providing consulting to clients on health care issues.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, September 3 at 11 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 462 W Ludlow Street, Summit Hill. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior in the church.
