Evelyn F. (Hafer) Heacock, 93, died February 19, 2023, in her Earl Township residence.
She was the widow of Leon L. Heacock who died in 1992.
Born November 24, 1929, in Oley, she was a daughter of the late Arthur S. and Mamie B. “Yoder” Hafer.
Evelyn was employed with Great American Knitting Mills, Bally for 15 years.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Spangsville.
Evelyn was a volunteer driver for Meals-on-Wheels for many years; she was also a member of Oley Senior Citizens and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church friendship circle, Douglassville.
Known as “Nana” to many, she loved spending time with family and working in her flower beds.
Surviving is her daughter, Carol A., wife of Thomas C. Keen of Boyertown.
There are also two grandchildren surviving: Jennifer, wife of Stephen Benning and Ryan, husband of Krystal Keen.
Other survivors are her four great grandchildren, who were the light of her life: Zachary and Andrew Benning and Charlynn and Myles Keen.
Evelyn is also survived by four siblings: Barbara A., widow of Gerald Toms of Gabelsville; Linwood Y. Hafer, husband of Sherry of Pike Township; Joanne Y., wife of Melvin Angstadt of Gabelsville; and Pauline Y., wife of Curtis Rhoads of Oley Township.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Hafer, and by her sister, Mary Ellen Sanders.
Services will be held Friday, February 24th, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 325 Covered Bridge Road, Oley, PA 19547. A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the church. Burial will take place in the adjoining cemetery.
